This Stakeholder Analysis template supports assessment of those individuals or groups who may affect the project, perceive themselves to be affected by the project, or may be affected by the project. The purpose of the stakeholder analysis is to determine whose interests should be taken into account to achieve a successful project outcome.

This template is developed to support a wide range of project types and sizes. Specifically, it:

  • begins with a section that captures relevant project information;
  • provides sections for documenting the stakeholder’s name and classifying the stakeholder as an internal or external stakeholder;
  • prompts the Project Manager to identify stakeholder attitude, level of influence, and ability to impact project resources; and
  • provides for identifying stakeholder needs and risks associated with non-engagement.

Typically, the Project Manager leads stakeholder analysis and receives input from other stakeholders.
