The Quality Requirements Log template is a project document. Its’ purpose is to capture quality requirements that are identified throughout the project life cycle. Our template provides for documenting a detailed description of the requirements, the measurement method, and the acceptance variance, if any. It is developed to support a wide range of project types and sizes. Specifically, our template:
- begins with a section that captures relevant project information;
- provides for assigning identification numbers to the quality requirements;
- prompts the Project Manager to record the “received from” information and the “received on” date; and
- includes a section for describing the requirements, indicating the measurement method, and specifying the acceptance variance, if any.
Who Creates the Quality Requirements Log?
Typically, the Project Manager or the Quality Manager is responsible for logging quality requirements.

There are numerous inputs to the development of a Quality Requirements Log, including the project charter, the quality management plan, government or industry standards, legal requirements, organizational culture and management practices, historical information, and the performance contract, if any.
