Assessment and Planning

MyPM provides an initial, free consultation to assist clients in determining whether our SharePoint project management services are right for them.  During the consultation, we listen to needs, ask questions, and provide answers.

Planning begins after the assessment.  We start by performing in-depth requirements gathering and analysis. Requirements gathering is performed by: diagramming organizational structure, documenting a list of needs, interviewing stakeholders, documenting workflows, documenting existing software and databases, identifying project risks, assessing internal and external resources, and determining system requirements.  A statement of work is generated, all known requirements are sized, and the schedule and budget are planned.

Installation and Configuration

MyPM procures and manages the resources for SharePoint installation and configuration.  We call upon SharePoint-experienced technology professionals that implement best practice standards.  After reviewing system requirements and installing any required system upgrades, installation begins.  When installation and basic configuration are complete, the development team is ready for customization and development.

Custom Configuration and Development

Out of the box, SharePoint is a rich solution.  In fact, it’s so rich that it tends to overwhelm the average user.  With custom configuration and perhaps some development, SharePoint can be well-tailored to fit specific business needs.  Examples of customization include: data or content migration, setting up sites for various departments, implementing user groups with various rights and privileges, developing custom reports, creating custom layouts that include branding, implementing custom workflows, creating document repositories, and implementing the procedures for document management.
 
MyPM manages the customization and development process to final deployment.  We work to ensure our clients receive full transparency of the entire process.  We do this, in part, by scheduling regular review sessions that enable our clients to view and provide feedback on the work in progress. Further, we implement change control procedures prior to the start of work.  Scope, schedule, and budget are monitored, controlled, tracked, and reported to our clients, on a weekly basis.

User Documentation and Training

Training is designed to enhance productivity and maximize the return on investment.  It's conducted by the development or project management professional most familiar with the newly customized application.
 
Throughout the development and customization process, where custom workflows, lists, or custom procedures are developed, user documentation is uploaded to the application. Adequate documentation ensures end-users have the information they need, well after the trained users are gone.

Roll Out Assistance

Rolling out a new application can present its own set of obstacles, especially when users must interact with the system to complete vital business functions.  For clients that desire roll out assistance, MyPM is there.  We work with our clients to develop and implement a plan that’s tailored to fit.  Throughout the roll out period, we remain immediately available for user questions and assistance.
